Clinical Massage in Honingham

At: ProActive Therapies
When: By appointment, Mondays and Fridays

Clinical Massage at ProActive Therapies in Honingham is the more targeted, assessment-based cousin of the Classic Massage service, held in the same warm private treatment room but with a different purpose. The first session begins with a full intake: what hurts, when, what you’ve tried, what you do day to day. A short movement assessment follows, then focused bodywork combining myofascial release, trigger-point work and targeted soft-tissue technique. The work suits long-standing issues that haven’t resolved with general massage or physio alone: chronic lower back pain, stubborn neck and shoulder tension, frozen shoulder, runner’s knee, plantar fasciitis, recovery from accident or surgery. Because the clinic houses osteopaths, sports therapists and acupuncturists, complex cases can be coordinated easily across practitioners. Students come in from Norwich and the western villages, and increasingly from further afield for specific clinical work.

A local tip

If you’re working through a specific injury, plan three to six appointments at roughly weekly intervals. Spacing is part of the treatment; tissue needs time to settle between sessions. Book the first three up front to make the rhythm easier.

About Clinical Massage

What the practice involves

Clinical Massage is targeted, thoughtful work for specific pain, injury and mobility concerns. It draws on myofascial, trigger-point and soft-tissue release techniques, adapted to what your body needs in the session. Ideal for long-standing neck and back tension, sports recovery, post-surgical rehabilitation, and stubborn patterns that relaxation massage alone doesn’t shift.

Students typically find it helps with

  • Targeted relief for specific pain, restriction or injury
  • Faster progress than relaxation massage alone on persistent issues
  • Supports recovery from surgery, accident or whiplash
  • Addresses postural patterns from desk work, driving or nursing
  • Complements and accelerates physiotherapy and osteopathic treatment
  • Reduces reliance on pain medication for long-standing issues
FAQs

Clinical Massage at Honingham

How is this different from physio?

Complementary rather than overlapping. Physio focuses on diagnosis, rehabilitation exercises and progressive loading; Clinical Massage releases restricted tissue and settles nervous-system guarding around injury. Many clients do both; results are usually better than either alone.

Is it covered by health insurance?

Some providers cover it with a GP or physio referral; check your policy. I provide invoices suitable for claims.

What if my issue is outside your scope?

ProActive houses osteopaths and sports therapists; Ania will refer you to whoever in the building is the best fit if her work isn’t.
